The Shri Hari Rath is a mobile mini-truck shaped like a chariot, carrying a small temple of God, which travels from village to village in forest areas. By this programme we have brought about a revolution in the forested areas.
When the chariot arrives in a village the local community welcomes it, and the temple inside the chariot is used for prayer and worship. In the evening a screen is put up on the chariot and religious films like the Ramayana and the Mahabharata are screened for the villagers.
This programme has had a significant impact on the forest dwellers, bringing social harmony and spiritual awakening to remote communities. The education provided by the chariot is primarily focused on promoting drug-free and addiction-free lifestyles. With your support we now have 109 Shri Hari Raths.
Why
Remote forest villages rarely see a temple, a Katha or a devotional film; addiction and social division grow where there is nothing to bring people together.
How it works
A chariot-truck with a small temple visits village after village: puja in the day, devotional films on a screen in the evening, and a message of social harmony and addiction-free living.
Who it is for: Villagers of remote forest areas
Where: Forest areas across India
