Sanskar Kendra

Our organisation establishes Ekal Shrihari cultural centres — Sanskar Kendras — in villages to promote respect for and dissemination of cultural values and knowledge among the residents, particularly women, men and children, through gatherings.

We believe that by bringing people together in such centres we can inspire and organise them to lead a more enlightened and purposeful life. Through the medium of Satsang we encourage cultural and spiritual values that promote a sense of unity and mutual respect among people, and inspire them to work towards the common good.

These centres serve as a hub for community development and focus on empowering women and youth to become self-sufficient and aware of their rights. By creating such cultural centres in villages we contribute to the overall development and well-being of rural communities.

Why

Villages in remote, mountainous, tribal and hilly regions had no place where the community came together to keep its culture, values and knowledge alive.

How it works

A Sanskar Kendra in the village: daily, weekly and fortnightly Satsang and svadhyaya led by trained Kathakars, with the whole village — men, women and children — taking part.

Who it is for: The men, women and children of forest-dwelling villages

Where: Forest villages (vananchal) across India and Nepal
